Between 2002 and 2003, Donovan Wylie spent nearly a hundred days photographing the Maze prison, which became a symbol of the Northern Ireland conflict. After the Belfast peace agreement in 1998, inmates were gradually released, but the prison remained open. Wylie was the only photographer given unlimited access during its demolition in 2007, documenting its decline in four sections: internal walls, fencing, H-blocks, and perimeter walls. This new edition of Maze, originally published in 2004, is presented in three volumes: Maze 2002/03Maze 2007/08, and The Architecture of Containment.
