Photographs by Mette Tronvoll | Photo Book
Norwegian photographer Mette Tronvoll, born in Trondheim in 1965, studied at the Parsons School of Design in New York before friends introduced her to the Düsseldorf School of photography. Mainly in color, her pictures are in the tradition of documentary photography and are clearly influenced by the artist's anthropological interest. The living conditions in Inner Mongolia, which Tronvoll studied in detail and documented photographically, play an important role in her work. She has since made a name for herself worldwide, and in 2006 she was awarded the Candida Höfer Foundation Prize.
