The English company Dutton Ltd. is the third generation to restore historic Bugatti models. From 1909 to 1963, the car manufacturer founded by Ettore Bugatti in Molsheim, Alsace, produced the best sports cars of its time. Ivan Dutton has dedicated himself to this legend: his twelve or so employees can manufacture every single part true to the original and build entire cars using old techniques. Photographer Koto Bolofo was fascinated by the Bugatti workshop in Buckinghamshire near London. There he collected impressions of the spirit of traditional craftsmanship that has long since disappeared from the car industry. The pictures in this large-format book tell of the work of the car restorers, whose passion keeps an era of motor racing alive.
