Meine Welt by Arnold Odermatt | Photo Book
Arnold Odermatt joined the Nidwalden police force in 1948. He used a Rolleiflex to photograph the scenes of accidents to which he was called in order to supplement the police report with photos. After his retirement, his son discovered the negatives - and made his father a star. From the extensive archive, 140 of the best photos were compiled. With the precision of a chronicler, the photographic policeman captured his rural life as a civil servant - on duty and in civilian clothes. With his eye for the small, seemingly trivial incidents and his outstanding compositions, the photographer succeeds time and again in capturing situations that often appear unintentionally funny and ironic.
